And more caffeine!
I have two more months before I go back to work and there are 10 million things I want to do. I want to:
Cook my way though The Pioneer Woman’s Cook book. And a couple of my other cook books! I can cook. I just don’t do it. I’m either tired, in a rush, too hungry to wait, it’s too late, out of ideas, can’t decide what I want to eat. I’m very lucky in that Chris would eat Dino chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese every single night if that’s what I made. It’s ME who’s the picky one. I like a starch, a vegetable and a protein at each meal. If I dont have that, I dont like the dinner. I want to experiment with cook books and document it here. It’s a lofty goal, seeing as how I have a new baby but I think I can handle it. Maybe. Not to mention, I should probably brush up on my wife skillz. I can cook and clean, it just takes forever for me to get motivated to do it. lol.
I want to take awesome pictures. I want to document Braiden’s whole life and make it into a really nice scrapbook. We’re so bad at taking pictures with a real camera. Almost every picture we have is with one of our phones. My mom yelled at me, saying I have to take my camera with me everywhere. Which is fine but its a silly little point and click. I want an expensive and cool as hell DSLR. We’ve talked about getting one! Neither of us know how to use one or even take good pictures but I. DONT. CARE! My mother made an awesome photo album for me when I was little and I want to do the same for B. And from the amount of “omg I’m now a photographer” statuses I’ve seen on my facebook, I could totally figure this thing out. If I get really into it, I could even take a CLASS. There’s a community college 5 or 6 miles away. No worries, being a photographer is not in my future.
I want to plant a garden! We have so much space in our backyard. We’re in the process of fencing the whole thing in. We have a fire pit, a gazebo and a garden would make it even better. I want both plants and vegetables. The flowers would look beautiful and we could eat the fresh produce for dinner. The problem is I have 0 idea of where to start and the only plants that we can actually keep alive are bamboo. Our palm tree died because we didn’t put it in a big enough pot (I guess?). Our lavender plants lasted a whole 3 days before they wilted and died…but I watered them! My mom can resuscitate a dead plant and make it the biggest bush you’ve ever seen. I think we’re definitely going to try this. When do I start planting? I’m sure the best time is right as I go back to work. FAB!
I want to use COUPONS. I’ve said this one million times and I’ve tried it but I just can’t get the hang of it. I am constantly seeing websites where people seemingly spend $4 and leave with half the damn store. I’ll cut out or print a whole bunch of coupons and then forget them on the kitchen table. Or I’ll lose them. Or they’ll get thrown out. Or they’ll expire before I can use them. Or I’ll get to the register and realize I didnt buy one damn thing that I have a coupon for! I could probably save us so much money! That saved money could and would be put towards 1) Savings 2) Braiden’s Savings acct and 3) Our damn vacation fund (one in July and one in Jan!). Since I havent been working, I’ve been saving so much money. I dont buy lunch everyday (I was ridiculous), I don’t use half the gas I did (I get 18 MPG!!) and I just havent been as frivolous. If I could just cut my Starbucks addiction, I’d be in serious business.
And most importantly, I want to plan a great wedding. We had planned on getting engaged in February, even before the baby. It was supposed to be on a cruise that we booked but apparently, Royal Caribbean doesn’t want the responsibility if you go into labor. They dont allow preggos over 24 weeks on board. YAY TRAVEL INSURANCE! Anyway, we have a date (Aug 2011) and we have a budget ($30K) and we have some ideas. But that’s all they are so far….ideas. I thought I knew exactly what I wanted but I’m completely undecided since I’ve been researching. The venue is narrowed down to 2 places. The wedding party is more or less decided. We have a few DJs and photographers. I am just looking forward to setting things in stone. But, I’m sure I’ll start freaking out once things are finalized. I am determined to not become Bridezilla. Be prepared for a bunch of blogs asking you to help me decide on weddings things.
Those are a few of the major ones. Quite a lot for 2 months, huh? Maybe I’ll just have to become a stay at home mom so I can finish them all. I need to make a bucket list! Read More
